Dell Streak 7

Dell Streak 7
Let's be honest, the Original Dell Streak was a bit 'identity crisis. 5-inch device was not sure if it was a tablet or a smartphone in the world, and finally it was time for a user targeted niche. But his elder brother, the Streak 7, is more self-aware. This is an honest-to-goodness film for the production of all those tablet-y things - surf, read e-books, watch videos, and more. May 7 Streak Sure sounds like a larger version of the 5-inch model, but differs by more than one screen size: 7 packs a powerful 1GHz dual-core T20-Tegra processor, 1.3 megapixel front camera in front, 5 Behind-megapixel Camera, T-Mobile "4G" HSPA + connections and 16 GB of internal memory. Each tablet passes through the phase of Dell Android 2.2 UI right now, but honeycomb Dell promises to update when ready.

It seems that one of the most complete tablets, 7 inches in the market now, and only $ 200 a contract with T-Mobile ($ 450 without), is actually quite expensive. However, there are some things that will keep applicants with 7-inch tablet fork over the cash.

No matter how you cut it, Streak Streak 7 looks like a giant (the version that is 5 inches) and it is not necessarily a bad thing to consider, we always had a soft spot for them, tapered sides and fairly stiff, plastic building. Dell is obviously trying to maintain a similar design in all family members Streak, although it also provided some clues to the location and relatives Venue Pro - back cover has the same diamond pattern textured as smartphones. We like how it feels in your hand, but unlike the original Streak, the back is not the house a replaceable battery. In fact, turns out to be an incredible disappointment, given that you are about to discover the battery life later in this review.

While many of the slate-makers are turning to a 10-inch form factor, we still appreciate the portability of a 7-inch range. (Yes, so much so that some of us are dying, even 7-inch iPad.) Since the Galaxy Tab or the Archos 7, 7 Streak is much better than a hand like the iPad, or any other 10-inch tablets that we tested. He loved to be able to easily keep Streak 0.48 inches, while reading a book in bed, or by wrapping both hands around 0.9 pounds tablet, and the ability to use your thumbs to write.

Besides the three capacitive buttons (back, menu and back), microphone and a camera on the front of the tablet, with a design from Dell is very clean. A plastic latch on the right edge, which can be difficult to open, if you do not have long nails, hiding the SD slot and SIM. At the top of the device has a power button and volume rocker, and the left edge of a 3.5 mm jack for headphones. Disappointing, there is no HDMI output on the device itself, Dell will offer a distinct platform that will join PDMI port on the bottom of the unit. A quick word on port PDMI - it is the same as the original Streak, and because there is no second USB port on the tablet, you must have at hand the cable or to recharge or connect to your computer to upload files side. Moreover, our review unit did not charge via USB - you must put it into the wall via its AC adapter. Yes, it's pretty boring.

No matter how you slice, Streak 7 shows a giant vein of (5-inch model that is), and is not necessarily a bad thing considering that we always had a soft spot for those tapered sides and a relatively rigid, plastic construction. Dell apparently is trying to maintain a similar structure in all members of the family Streak, although it has also brought some tips Place Pro family and place - the back cover is the same diamond pattern structured as smartphones. Let's see how it feels in your hand, but unlike the original pipe, back at home is not a removable battery. This proves to be a bummer really amazing because what you're going to find the battery on this review.

While responsible for many head to the slate form factor of 10 inches, we still value to transfer the 7-inch black. (Yes, so some of us are even dying for an iPad 7 inches.) Galaxy as Tab or Archos 7, 7 Streak much better suited for use with one hand iPad any of 10 other - inch tablets we've tested. We loved being able comfortably to meet 0.48 inches Streak when you read a book in bed or wrap our hands around 0.9 tablet book and be able to use your thumbs to type.

Besides the three capacitive buttons (again, the menu and the house), a microphone and a camera on the front of the platform, Dell has kept the design very clean. A plastic closure on the right edge, which can be difficult to open, if you have long nails, hides the SD and SIM card slots. The top of the device has a power button and volume control, and the left edge of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately there is no HDMI output on the device itself, Dell will offer a dock that connects independent CMS port at the bottom of the unit. A quick word on the CMS port - is the same as the original run, and there is no other tablet USB port, you should have your cable is for charging or connecting to the computer files of lateral load. In addition, our review unit does not charge via USB - you must connect to the wall via its power adapter. Yes, it's pretty boring.
